Milda Valentienė (b. 1985) Lithuanian painter who creates oil and pastel compositions inspired by nature and art history, in which realism and deformation go together.

‘Our wonderful world floats in an infinite universe full of stars, other planets, and possibly other life forms that we know nothing about. We are born like sparkling drops in an endless space, an endless ocean, an unfathomable cosmos. Continuous creative process, eternal movement – when we come into this world, we immediately become a part of it. We are creative – this is our essence.

I chose creativity as my main way. When I was little, creativity manifested itself in various fields – I played the piano, danced, drew, filmed, photographed, acted and dreamed a lot. But soon painting became the main activity. Colors, pigments, transparency, mattness, textures, and multiple languages with which you can express how you feel about life and the world. Perhaps the most accurate description of my relationship with creativity would be the following words:

“Art is neither a profession nor a hobby. Art is a way of being.” — Frederick Franck’
